Our mission with SW3EO is to deliver a rich, refreshing narrative mystery experience that utilizes the medium as effectively as possible to create a world that feels alive and responsive to the player. Though there are strong comparison touchpoints with pure narrative games such as Life is Strange and Telltale’s stable, SW3EO actually has as much in common with Fallout: New Vegas, Prey 2017, or Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines; the player can customize the player character’s traits and abilities to give them multiple options for every scenario.
Furthermore, the player’s interaction with the story heavily determines the outcome; unlike Telltale games, which tend toward fatalistically linear progressions of identical events, the goal with SW3EO is to build a game that’s genuinely reactive to the player’s choices, which makes the game intensely replayable. The player’s understanding of the game changes the game.
